Computer Won't Wake Up


Running Ubuntu 8.10 After about 30 minutes the display shows the screensaver. However, when the space bar is pressed or the mouse moved the system does not come alive. My power management shows (default)the computer should never go to sleep and the monitor should go to sleep after 45 minutes.

I have a dual boot setup. After I had to do a complete power shutdown and reboot the system log showed the following:

Apr 22 06:36:29 rog3236-desktop pulseaudio[5046]: module.c: Failed to load module "module-x11-xsmp" (argument: ""): initialization failed.

Apr 22 06:37:40 rog3236-desktop python: io/hpmud/pp.c 627: unable to read device-id ret=-1

Apr 22 06:37:42 rog3236-desktop hp: io/hpmud/pp.c 627: unable to read device-id ret=-1
