First back it up, then remove the line containing 1920f61d using your favorite text editor. e.g., using the (simple) Nano editor:

sudo nano /etc/fstab

Did that. Thought it worked because I restarted and it instantly worked as normal but then I restarted again to make sure, and it was a no-go.

So, it seems to have fixed the problem with the drive BUT the drive has nothing to do with the boot up issue. Will actually have to reinstall at some point...

Double check to see if the edit stuck. Long long long ago I saw distros use some sort of backup system on critical files undo "unauthorized" changes to those files on the second startup following making of the manual change.
