Unhappy Can't get samba install, you know how?

Hi Everyone,

i can't install samba,
i have download a latest release (samba-3.0.0.27a.tar.gz)
also i have extracted. used command [tar -xvf samba-3.0.0.27a.tar.gz]

i'm login as a root,
In (Extracted)samba directory,
i can not find [samba.rpm]

i have try command [rpm -i samba.rpm]
[prompt]
error message: fail no such file or directory

does anyone know where RPM package stored?

if you can give instruction for installing samba,
i am very very very appreciated

That is the source code archive, you would only use that if you intend to build Samba from the source code and install manually.

What you want to be doing is using your distribution's binary packages for Samba, and install that way.

That's right. Why did you expect to see an rpm file?

In the extract directory, you'll find another one called samba-3.0.0.27a or something. Inside that, you'll find instructions.
