I have been trying to install RHEL 5 using ISO iamge CDs but for some odd reason, my machine is not recognizing the ISO images as bootable.

I already have windows running on this machine and I would like to have a dual boot system. Thanx.

What is the boot order in your bios? If CD is not set above hdd, than swap that around. Otherwise, sometimes you have to access your bios boot menu to force a CD-boot. I have seen situations where Windows does not want to "release" the system to boot off a disc, and the easiest way to force it is to use the bios booting menu.

Yes, It's a Dell system and the boot sequence is set to floppy drive, cd-rom and then hdd. Is there a work around? .....Thankx.

I have had to remove the hdd as a boot option before, but not even that is a guarantee. I asked if this was a Dell system as I have seen this occur before with them. The removal of the hdd from the boot list will work sometimes, and the rest of the time turn off quick boot so you can see the system options, and wait for the boot menu to come up. At that point, if the media is bootable, it should boot. A good test is to try and get your media to boot on some other system just for verification, or take a look at the disc to see if there is a boot area on it.
