I have just installed redhat 9, i have installed webmin but i cannot access it. i can login through ssh but the web ports are blocked. i get message in browser saying connection refused when attempting to connect to 127.0.0.1 webmin should work even if apache is not working right?
also no default webpage displayed.
i have tried to lowering security to "no firewall" did not helped.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
-ito
thanks david,
i checked with the netstat -nlp command and it is listening on port 80 but it will not let me see the sample webpage. it gives me the same message "connection refused". port 10000 is not listed as listening. how can i start the webmin manually?

Are you typing it out like this, specifying the port number: http://127.0.0.1:10000/
If you don't specify the port number after your loop back address ( 127.0.0.1 ) it will try to default to port 80 like most browsers will use, thinking its a regular web page.
