I'm trying to set up a home lab with a two port team bridged to KVM using Fedora 26 via Network Manager. I assign an IP to the bridge and all seems to work. When I put a VM on the bridge, communication fails to the VM and I cannot get a dhcp address; if I eliminate the bridge it works as expected.

When I tried creating a bond instead of a team, I was able to get an IP on the VM but only in active-backup mode, not in loadbalance mode.

I'm not sure what else to check, I would really like to get teaming to work in load balanced mode or loadbalanced bonding at a minimum. can anyone point me in the right direction?

An update. I was able to get Bonding working with KVM for the different modes; I had some misconfigurations on my switch since balance-rr, balance-xor and broadcast all require trunk ports configured on the switch. I was able to get active-backup, balance-tlb and balance-alb all working as expected, create vlans on top of the bond and then bridge everything out to present to KVM.

Teaming however, simply does not work. Besides the fact that I cannot find enough documentation about he underpinnings of teaming to truly troubleshoot it, it does not seem to work with a bridge to KVM. Mind you, the team itself seems to be created and works on the host OS, but when I present a bridge with the team to KVM I cannot get the VMs network activity.

Regardless, I would still like to know why teaming isn't working as ultimately I would like to move to that technology. Can anyone shed some light?

You may want to try just creating the team on the OS without doing anything other then having the ports your using in the same vlan on the switch side.
I've configured teaming several times within VirtualBox but never used bridged only port the were directed internal connections between both guests.

I've been able to get teaming working independent of KVM. I was able to create a bridge off of the team without a vlan and have connectivity on the host. It's only when I try to bring that bridge into KVM that it fails to give connectivity to the guests.

I have yet to come across anything on the internet that shows a working example of teaming in KVM. The few times I've seen it mentioned, it was referencing teaming and bonding but the examples were of bonding.

Starting to think no one is using this in KVM and/or it may not work in KVM to service guests at all.
