Internet blocks normal site access with "Unable to complete secure transaction".

During the last few weeks I've had trouble accessing sites either by directly entering the URL, or by clicking a Google link. The worst offender is OpenWrt. If I enter:

http://openwrt.org

the site replies with:

https://openwrt.org

and then a page with the heading "Unable to complete secure transaction" and "Secure connection: fatal error (40) from server."

Note the https. On some sites, deleting the 's' allows access, but not on OpenWrt, since it reverts to https. I can get the wiki pages, but not the forums.

I've never had this problem before, and although I'm using an old browser (Opera 12.16 on Linux) something this fundamental shouldn't happen, or so I'd thought.

Can anyone throw light on this?

Hi,

You need to update to a newer version. FYI it works here with opera-37.0
Older versions do not include the new ciphers.

Regards

Thanks for that, and the explanation. Will do so.
