Hello Everyone. New to this forum. I have three servers on my company running Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS.
One of those servers needs to have A, SRV and CNAME records added so it can work with certain software. I am testing on a virtual machine before going into production.
Is there a way to change those records without using BIND tool?
I already changed nameservers on /etc/resolv.conf but I need to add the previously mentioned records.
Is there any other file where I can set those changes manually?

Newbie to Linux.

The nameservers in resolv.conf are who to send your dns queries to. There's also /etc/hosts (resolv.conf and hosts both have man pages). Boxes usually check /etc/hosts before looking for dns.
