How do you know it isn't a problem with the lan or some crosstalk on the lan? Or a power supply issue now being grounded or such or leaking path or arcfault in house or ....
I guess it could be possible a defect in the nic is causing a power or interference issue. I'd be less likely to believe it is the driver but....

it's all a little vague.
what video? tried several? on/offline? from browser, or directly from media player? flash or html5?
what's "haywire"? any output on the logs, any error messages?
etc. etc.
are you sure it's always reproducable on eth0, and never reproducible on wlan?
Sorry, by video I meant my entire screen is shot with funny clicking noises and big blurry patches that make viewing impossible. House is only a year old and no problems anywhere else. Wifi has never been a problem. I have no net access at home and rely on my sisters house at the weekends. Does'nt reach everywhere though, so bought a cable to use in my room. Realized I had eth0 turned off in bios so fixed that, then the problem started. Cant find any error messages in logs.
sounds serious.
hardware problem of some sort.
open the machine, take it apart, clean everything, put it back together.
incl. all cables, inside thje machine and outside.
use a different wall socket.
etc. etc.
