dnsmasq can't work
I'm trying to setup dnsmasq but I couldn't figure out how to recognize my local ip stations associate with hostnames. It won't recognize it.
I own a domain name :
mydomain.com
I have 3 stations with following IPs :
station 1 (with 2 NICs): 192.10.0.1 (local) and IP from my ISP assigned
station 2: 192.10.0.2
station 3: 192.10.0.3
I use my station 1 as a gateway to Internet
DHCP can assign correctly the range of IP to my stations.
In my /etc/hosts :
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.10.0.1 st1 st1.mydomain.com
192.10.0.2 st2 st2.mydomain.com
192.10.0.3 st3 st3.mydomain.com
Here's the setup of my dnsmasq.conf:
interface=eth0
expand-hosts
dhcp-range=192.10.0.1,192.10.0.10
domain=mydomain.com
dhcp-host=00:01:AF:C6:EE:0E,192.10.0.1
dhcp-host=00:22:C1:EE:0E:FF,192.10.0.2
dhcp-host=00:20:69:56:88:99,192.10.0.3
after I restarted dnsmasq, I got this msg in /var/log/syslog
dnsmasq[10261]: ignoring nameserver 192.10.0.1 - local interface
What's that mean?
