connman recognises available wifi but will not connect

It looks as if there is something other than a driver in the way:

CONNMAN_SUPPLICANT_DEBUG=1 connmand -n -d

yields this:

Connection ":1.58" is not allowed to own the service "net.connman" due to security policies in the configuration file

My question is what configuration file? There is no connman main.conf file and the only active lines in wpa_supplicant.conf (except the wifi services) are:

The configuration file is under /var/lib/connman.

Thanks, but there is not main.conf file there. It is optional and I have not created one, nor can I tell from the error message what it is I need to reset in a config file.

The main configuration file should be wifi.config.

There is no such file. There is a settings file that records the current states, e.g., wifi enabled/disabled, and a folder for each wifi or ethernet connection profile. The wifi profiles have a non-ASCII data file and a settings file that store information such as SSID and passwords -- if one has successfully connected. Where there was no successful connection, no settings file is created.

Actually I was wrong above, the main configuration file is: /usr/local/etc/connman/main.conf -- and there is none on my machines, including the Mageia Cauldron machine where connman IS working.

I also erred in debugging. The result I listed in message #16 in this thread merely demonstrates my incompetence in debugging programs! It resulted from running the debug command as a normal user before stopping connman.service. I have since run it and the basic "connmand -d" debug command as root allowing the commands to start the service, and they show no errors.

I have also now stopped shorewall.service to see if a configuration there was blocking the connection as connman itself seems to be functioning correctly. Again, there was not effect.
