Angry Installed Mint XFCE twice and it keeps insisting the password is wrong

I have now completely reinstalled Mint TWICE, and when I go to log in the first time it insists the password is incorrect!

First time I might have somehow misspelled it, twice, but the second time I made sure it is correct.

????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aside: Whenever I've had an argument with an OS about my password, the OS has always been right.

Managed to log in. It's about as easy to follow as anything else with Mint. I'm telling you! Maybe I'm going to sick this system on my not-tech-savvy coworker and maybe I'm not... In all Ubuntu desktops it gives you your username, and then you enter your password in the space provided.

In Mint it tells you want to do in little tiny letters after telling you your user name - you have to enter your user name, THEN the password - and THEN, do it all over again!

I don't think so! Not happy already.

AND, when I tried to go to linuxmint-help, there were 30 very aloof or arrogant people there, but no conversation going on and noone responded to me. Of course it took me fifteen minutes to even learn how to log in since it wouldn't be Linux Mint if the instructions were anything resembling even as clear as mud. There were six comments on that forum page that this isn't a good sign....

It seems like I moved ot Ubuntu in the first place in part because of the arrogance and unhelpfulness I found on the Mint forums - you people are acquiring quite a reputation.
