Arrow The only problem I couldn't solve...

Hi all and thanks for reading this,
I have a Siemens Scenic 510 laptop and the problem is its sound card. It is a usual ESS1869 chip, and I can not make it work under linux (Slackware 9.0). Reading over internet I found that it should be SoundBlaster compatible and it should work with sb module so I tried this:

modprobe sb io=0x220 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=0 mpu_io=0x330 esstype=1869

and loading module passed with no errors. I took those io,irq and other values from BIOS (values from Windows can not work) and when I try to play some sound with XMMS or some Test message with KDE sound, computer freezes and only hard reset can wake it. Here are the things that I don't understand very well:
In BIOS there are values
Capture DMA : 1
Playback DMA : 0
Which one is dma and dma16? I switched the values and when I tried to play sound it didn't freeze but it didn't work either. dmesg output was:

Sound: DMA (output) timed out - IRQ/DRQ config error?

I don't know any more is it isa PnP card or not?? pnpdump says No board found. I tried with ALSA, compiled and installed it ok, and modprobe snd-es18xx says No such device
I don't know what to do anymore, PLEASE help me, or give some suggestions!!

Thanx again

I think I tried recompiling kernel with support for all thing that could be connected with es1869, but I'll try again, if it helped you
