Hi,
I'm kinda new to linux so my question might sound a bit newbie...
When i try to install/run live cds for any kind of linux (except dsl), the kernel loads and then the screen goes black. I've googled my problem and i didn't find any websites that would help me solve my problem. The thing is, I am already running XP and I would like to be able to dual boot Linux/XP. Here are my specs :

Dell Inspiron 1501
Mobile AMD Athlon 64x2 TK-55 1.8ghz Processor
Inspiron 1501 Motherboard
Pheonix BIOS v2.6.1
ATI Radeon Express 1150(256mb) Video Card
2Gb DDR2 800mhz Ram
120gb 5400rpm Hard Disk

Some quick googling indicated that you should use the following boot option in order for the computer to boot properly.
pci=nomsi

unfortunatly, it didn't work, i still got that black screen that stays for hours if i don't reboot my computer... i've tried that boot option with openSuse, Ubuntu and Gentoo but no results...
