libinput remap physical buttons but not tapping?

So I got a new laptop. Libinput works perfectly with the tapping buttons. The trackpoint & it's buttons don't work at all, but not a big deal. The physical touchpad buttons, however, are off. Left button right clicks, right button middle clicks. I can remap them using /etc/X11/xorg/40-libinput.conf
Code:
Option "ButtonMapping" "0 3 1 2 4 5 6"
but then tapping is off. I've tried to use
Code:
Option "TappingButtonMap" "lrm"
to no avail. I'm thinking this just isn't possible to remap via libinput, but was hoping that someone else would have other ideas.

I tested with synaptics and that's off as well, so if possible to get it working properly with libinput I'd prefer to since synaptics isn't being developed further going forward.

Nevermind...installed the backports kernel and now all is working as it should. Don't know why it didn't occur to me sooner to try the newer kernel.
