Hi there,
I want to build a kernel module with the help of dkms. On the machine where the kernel module is going to be built everything which is needed is installed (kernel headers, build-essentials and dkms ofc). However, dkms fails to build the module but actually (if you look up the log file) it succeeded. A .ko file is created as well. The output of the dkms build command is the following:
Quote:
dkms build -m mbgtools-lx-dev -v 2017-02-17
Kernel preparation unnecessary for this kernel. Skipping...
Building module:
cleaning build area....
'make'...........
Error! Build of mbgclock.ko failed for: 4.9.0-6-amd64 (x86_64)
Consult the make.log in the build directory
/var/lib/dkms/mbgtools-lx-dev/2017-02-17/build/ for more information.

the return code in this case is 7.
I'm now in that loop where I'm unable to install the driver with dkms (because it always want to rebuild the module) but the result is always the same: build process is successful but dkms yells that the process failed and cancels. The return code after the make process is 0.
You can find my dkms.conf for the kernel module on
pastebin.org. I've also uploaded the
make.log which is generated by dkms.
Thanks in advance
