Unhappy MD5 O' plenty.

I have a seagate barracuda 4 , 80gb, 7200rpm with an 8mb cache that i purchased about this time last year. Everything was cool until I had to relinstall slackware because i messed up the kernel. All was good until I tried to install enemy territory. No matter where i downloaded it from, I always got an MD5 error. I go to install dropline gnome for slackware, and I get all sorts of md5 errors. Also Everytime i reinstall slackware (and i kid you not, i have tried about 30 times) It always seems to NOT install some vital component (sometimes it's perl, somtimes it's X , etc)

is this drive bad or could it be somthing else?

NOTE: I had some processor overheating problems about the same time I had to reinstall.

NOTE: I have also low level formatted this drive on numerous occasions.

NOTE: I have lilo installed to the MBR (had noob troubles putting it on masterblock). Could this be a source of problems

Thanks in Advance.
