Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

How well (latency) does Xbox one controller work in Linux using Bluetooth?

Using an Xbox one controller, how well would it work in Linux regarding latency over Bluetooth? In windows it requires using the Microsoft Bluetooth receiver, is this woodforest bank login also necessary in Linux and would that dongle even work with Linux?
The distro I'd use would probably be Ubuntu, manjaro, or kde neon.

That's a bit like asking: How long is a piece of string?

It depends on amount transmitted, bluetooth protocol used, distance, sun-behind-a-cloud type events

I've seen this thread, but since I don't think I've ever actually seen an xbox controller, nevermind used one, I've just ignored it. I can't help, sorry. Bluetooth works fine in Linux, at least everything I've tried - mostly connecting music sources and sinks. Latency is mostly an issue with version and hardware. I'm not sure why it would require a particular receiver, but as I said I know zero about xbox, or what it does.

Would this be a question for the Steam community?
