Boot from IBA CE Slot?
In my HP desktop which is ten years old, I get boot options after I press F9 and choose not to go straight into my SSD. CD, USB, HDD and what is IBA CE Slot?
"IBA GE Slot xx" means there's an Intel NIC with a boot ROM in PCI/PCIe slot xx, where "slot xx" may be an actual PCI/PCIe expansion slot or an onboard motherboard component.
Better known as PXE boot. Instead of setting up 100 company PCs, set up one, then a PXE server. The client has nothing, but downloads the kernel, boots it, downloads the OS and installs it. It's a pain to set up, but worth it in time.
IBA is a way to remote boot systems. Each vendor could implement various features to allow different types of remote booting like pxe or iscsi or almost any pre-boot enviroment. It means it uses one or more than one of the NIC cards. The usb boot is a different way to boot. It is local.
The bios may offer ways to disable you from selecting it but some like HP tend to let you boot from nic card via F12 even if bios is password and locked. I pxe a knoppix to hp systems to mess with co-workers who think they can lock me out.
