I've found Funtoo's to be extremely well-written and useful. Their AWK and OpenSSH guides were nice recent discoveries for me.

Lifewire (used to be about.com--about.com has apparently gone through a major rebranding) has a pretty good Linux site:: https://www.lifewire.com/learn-how-linux-4102755
