Can't resize ext3 partition (using "parted"). Help or advise another app, plz

I can resize Ext2, but not Ext3. It is said that it CAN resize Ext3...
Can anyone help me? Or can you tell me another FREE app that works with ext3???
Any help is very appreciated.

A nice linux utility is qtparted but alas, it doesn't resize ext3 partitions.

So, I use command line tools resize2fs , e2fsck and fdisk to resize ext3 partitions.
For example, shrinking /dev/hda1 from 30gigs to 20gigs

From a linux livecd
You will need to run e2fsck first.
e2fsck -f /dev/hda1

Then I use resize2fs to shrink the file system
resize2fs /dev/hda1 19000M ###Note: I make the file system smaller than the new partition size.

Then I use fdisk to recreate the partition as a smaller one.
DO NOT format the partition.

Then I rerun the resize2fs command without options
resize2fs -f /dev/hda1

If you want to enlarge partitions, you enlarge the partition before enlarging the file system.
