Boot errors; can't find them in logs

Hi,

I swear I am seeing error messages when my system starts up, but I cannot find anything indicating this in any of the log files in /var/log.
Is there somewhere else?

Thanks!

edit: OK I am _positive_ that there are several "FATAL:" messages in boot. Aargh!

You can use the dmesg command to display boot error messages:
dmesg

You can use the grep and less commands to make the message list readable for example:
dmesg | less
dmesg | grep fatal | less
