ACL's being ignored when using NFS

Hi,
I have an ext3 file system that I have recently got ACL's working on. When I upload files via FTP, SSH, and Samba, etc. the file permissions are set correctly by the ACL rules. However, when I export the file system via NFS the ACLs are completly ignored.

The server is running Debian Sarge with a stock Debian 2.4.27 kernel, and the client system I am using is running Ubuntu Dapper Drake with a stock Ubuntu 2.6.15 kernel.

Is there anything special that I have to do to the configuration files for NFS to make it obey the ACLs?

Thanks,
- David

Hello, I have the same problem now.
I read a lot of, but I don't find the solution anywhere.
My configuration is in the server side a RHEL4 and in the client side CentOS4.
In the server, I forced it to use the version 3 of nfs (vers=3).
Can you solve this problem?

sorry

ACLs are an extension of the EXT3 file system which NFS doesn't support.
