compiling Ace Of Penguins game

Has anyone actually gotten Ace Of Penguins (http://www.delorie.com/store/ace/) (a package of several card and traditional desktop games) to compile. Near as I can tell, there is a structure clash with libpng. Looks like the internal structure of libpng changed and that causes the make phase to fail.

I attempted to find a slackbuild but there are none.

I found a gentoo ebuild but it references several patch files whose URL is not revealed, which means they may as well not exist.

there is a binary tar file on that post sight of yours. have you tried using that one?

Found a source package that must have been altered from the upstream in order to work. This source package was a debian source package. Despite that, I was able to use the usual ./configure make make install (with the usual --prefix specifier) to get it to compile. Bringing up help in any of the games segfaults but other than that they run fine.
