You should observe a noticeable increase in the touchpad speed. You may need to adjust the value to suit. If it works as desired then you can make it permanent with a custom Xorg file eg /etc//X11/xorg.conf.d/90-touchpad.conf....

In general you should not mix issues in threads. Did you read michaelk's advice re ntp (post #6)?

True, I should have made 2 threads. I have ntp installed. I'm stuck on that one.
