I just upgraded from Slackware 9.1, which uses XFree86 4.3, to Slackware 11, which uses xorg 6.9. Using Slackware 9.1, I could make my monitor go to standby mode by turning on blanking with xset:
Code:
xset blank
xset s 600
I have Slackware 11 set up the same way, but my monitor won't go to standby mode anymore. The screen turns black but the power indicator doesn't turn orange like it does when it's on standby. I'm pretty sure my monitor doesn't support DPMS, but I have also tried the following commands, which didn't work any better:
Code:
xset dpms force standby
xset dpms force suspend
xset dpms force off
My monitor goes to standby mode if I turn my computer off. Is there a way to make my video card stop sending a signal to the monitor, to make my monitor think that the computer is off?
My video card is an AGP Radeon 7000, and I'm using the radeon driver that shipped with Slackware 11.
