WikiLeaks has been around for four years. I never paid them much attention, and, suddenly, there is a world-wide manhunt on based on somewhat dubious allegations in Sweden.

I can say this quite confidently without approving or disapproving of Wikileaks:

When does Interpol go after persons accused with questionable charges of rape?

If this is all about some questionable sex charge in Sweden, I'm the Tsar of All the Russias and the Emperor of Rome and the Past Participle of Poobah.

Give me a break.

It's because Persons Who Consider Themselves Important have been Caught with Their Pants Down.

Good luck blocking ALL the mirrors.
Technically they should not be able to do this as the US Government does not own everyone.

Those who think the United States incapable of such a thing need only look to the proposed "Internet kill switch" that would give the president rights to "shut down" the Internet in an emergency.
Err Fatal flaw...The internet is made of world wide servers that the US cannot control. Even if they shut down the DNS server, all sites would be accessible by IP.
They could not possibly shut down all ISPs either.

Well, I may end up supporting this Mr. Assange.

If it comes to my internet freedom, BRING IT ON GUBMINT. :)

turn your BS filter on...

My being older, semi-retired, and unemployed for the last year and 1/2 I have both the time and the inclination to spread the scope of my BS filter as you put it quite wide.

I watch local, NBC, Democracy Now, GritTV, and The Thomm Hartman show in the morning. FOX News, Beck, and Huckabee in the evening. These shows encompass a very wide range of political and social views.

you ask for: "please an example of
"list of strategically irreplaceable assets "
exclusive to cablegate", you asked for a list and I pointed you to one: http://213.251.145.96/cable/2009/02/...113.html#par15

Here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ml#post4184076

you say "...I did not ask for a complete list...", so I linked to an outside source of info: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/...n7123658.shtml

I could certainly google every weapons facility in England and I did google the 3-4 English plants listed in the cable. As near as I can tell googling them doesn't tell what specific U.S. weapons systems they are "critical" to.

Anyhoo, back to the 'drama' :

"WikiLeaks founder praised by Pentagon Papers exposer.

IDG News Service - Daniel Ellsberg, the man responsible for outing the now famous Pentagon Papers in 1971, and a group of ex-intelligence officers have thrown their weight behind WikiLeaks and its founder, saying the current attempt to label WikiLeaks' leaks as trivial compared to the Pentagon Papers is wrong."
