Wikileaks urged to strike oil in return for compassionate release of Julian Assange

"UK authorities have suggested that they could be convinced to release Julian Assange on compassionate grounds if Wikileaks were to find oil roughly equivalent to that produced by Libya each year."

First, I must say that you TexMex are full of sh*t. Maybe you should dig a hole in the earth, dive in it with your lappy and hope that your government won't cut you off from the internet (completely).

There are fresh news for those interested;
-Can you believe? I never thought that would happen... Anonymous' Facebook page has been banned and Twitter account suspended. Link.

And here's the PayPal's excuse explained; Link.

*Claps slowly and sarcastically* , Smooth move on twitter's part they've just made themselves a target as well by Anonymous now, braaavo.

Yet Twitter did not suspend this guy called 'TH3J35TER' when he was twittering and bragging on all the DDoS stunts he pulled. Hypocrites.

Jeebizz 12-08-2010 06:56 PM

Anon is back on twitter anyways according to this.

It's all wrong, this is not the way to do things. You can't fight them this way, if you do, they will win, because you pay them every day, and give them every last bit of your power. You have to fight them the right way, and definitely not by hacking.

Let's assume that this is not a gubmint setup, say these supporters of wikileaks are just misled teens. The way they should fight is by getting the truth out there, making it public, etc. Supporting their points with logical arguments, maybe even get some money together and get a lawyer or bail out Assange. What a bunch of fools, of all the positive things they could do they decide to DDOS mastercard and paypal, who really had nothing to do with it. The gubmint told these sites to take it down, what fault did they have !? This is bulls*** ! These haxxors are f'n retards !!! idiots !!!

That's it I've had enough of this, unsubscribing.

did you ever wonder maybe this latest round of DDos attacks is a false flag operation ?

meant to drum up support for the internet off switch

modeled after the control China has over the internet there
it would give Oh-bummer the power to turn off large parts or the internet at a time for as much as 4 months at will

Jeebizz 12-08-2010 08:39 PM

I would like to see said supporters of this 'kill-switch idea', who are they?

I find myself very split on the whole Wikileaks thing. On one hand I think we need places like that. On the other I can't see the reason to specifically release the last batch of documents. They seem to have been released to attack the US and embarrass other countries.

Now I am all for freedom of information. I am also getting a laugh out of the fact that the US government is telling us what is best with the internet, our computers, security, etc. but they can't even hold on to their own "TOP SECRET" diplomatic documents.

Yet I still see the latest release as a major reason why some will turn their backs on Wikileaks and in the process this may start to restrict things even more in the US, which may be the intent of the documents mysteriously being released.

I am really split on this. Even places like wikileaks needs some kind of "Code of Conduct," or "Guide Lines," that clearly state the limits. Freedom (Free Speech,) and Democracy is not the same as Anarchy.

However I think it is great when places like this stand up to Governments. I will be waiting for Documents coming from China, Russia, UK and other places to show up on Wikileaks. The same amount, types of info and the like.....

Have I mentioned that I am really split on this? lol
