Yeah, I'm no fan of Google either, but since the chromeboook is using a linux kernel, they are in a way FUDing linux.
Microsoft won't admit it, but they wanted a similar vision to what the chromebook is doing, but Google just did it better than MS did. The Surface Pro RT was a major disappointment for MS.
goole seems to be a variant of face-crook these days, hooking everything together, from your goole acct to cell phone to the (imho stupid item) Nest thermostat. its all about connecting stupid shiat together and less about innovation or business oriented tools (hmmm, will android ever become an enterprise-ready device like a crackberry?). although, goole seems to be fostering technology, application seems scarce (google car, google glass, etc etc). goole car reality anytime soo? nope, because automation in aircraft is precedent that machines (no matter how good they may be) are not a 100% substitute for humans, and, the reliance on automation trends towards being very dangerous and in some cases deadly.
how about that thin roll-up plastic sheet that has daily news auto updated for me every morning i wake up? what happened to all those innovations that AT&T were bringing us that they touted through TV ads using Magnum PI as the speaker (recall, buy stadium tickets right at the ATM screen)???

I have to agree. That googles integration sucks. Especially when they brought it to youtube
For a company that is scared of Linux, I can't think of any other org that has done more to promote the use of Linux, by offering such crappy products!
I personally don't like MS and google as they both suck and spy on everyone.
.....And what really scares me, is that so few people seem to care. It seems people will sign-up for anything, and even pay money, to have everything they do watched and logged. They post all their personal details on Facebook, and even use their real names; carry a phone which is turned on all of the time, and can track them wherever they go on the face of the earth.
An older guy whom I know told me of his recent trip to Thailand. Even though there was no internet access where he went, every place he went, in minute detail, he was able to see on the net when he got home, thanks to Google and his [not-so-]smart phone.
The matrix for surveillance and control of society that this is setting up, is truly terrifying and mind-blowing. As if the governments of the Western world don't already interfere in our daily lives enough already....imagine the ramifications a few years down the road, once this is all fully integrated and 99.8% of the people are onboard with it?! Truly, we are witnessing the creation of a monster; and most of the people around us are volunteering to be dinner for that monster.
IMHO: somebody needs to worry about everything (ê: name, picture of themselves, bombs, drugs, &c) some or most of us don't and "they" know who you are regardless, infinitely different use\r\s (and yes even many u$er$.)
Edit\add: In IT Security or any professional roll you should use your name not HaCKEr_d_Yo...

Trying not to use "sw#!r" words? Or, that ease (for $ome) makes for more grazing? Debatably a "good" thing.
