Problem installing Fedora 22 from live DVD.

Hi, Am trying to install Fedora 22 workstation edition from the live DVD as supplied on the cover of Linux Format magazine of August 2015.
The insallation gets as far as the black screen with the white 'filling teardrop' graphic, which freezes part way through, and gets no further.
I have installed several Linux distros on this same set-up before. e.g. Ubuntu 12.04, Mint 12/14/17, and Fedora 17, all run fine.
The PC is a Foxconn K8M890-8237A with 2x AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+, 2GB DDR RAM.
The board noramally has an Nvidia GeForce 8400GS PCI-E graphic card, but for the installation I have removed it to avoid the known issues.
The question is, is this PC able to run Fedora 22, or have I missed some vital step (or several steps?)
I realise this PC is about 7 years old now, but I know it runs just fine with the distros I mentioned above, so it can't be that ancient ! Will I only be able to install 32 bit distros?

If it gets that far, 64-bit shouldn't be an issue.
What issue are you trying to avoid with the nvidia ?. What is the on-board video processor that you are trying to use ?.
Have you read the install guide here ?. Section 5.2 describes how to get a console to see the logging rather than the stupid graphic - see if that gives any hints. I have installed F22 (32-bit) on an old Pentium 4 with old Radeon video ok, so I agree you should be able to make it work.

Edit: forgot to ask - does it run ok in liveDVD mode ?. With the nvidia ?.

syg00, Thanks for the reply. I have read that the Nvidia graphic card can be an 'issue' when installing some distros, regarding the drivers, so I removed the GeForce card and let it run with the onboard graphics chipset, It runs well with either option, if I can get the distro installed.
The chipset is;
VGA compatible controller : VIA Technologies, Inc. K8M890CE/K8N890CE [Chrome 9] (rev 11) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
Ethernet controller : Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL-8139/8139C/8139C+ (rev 10)
Audio device : VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8237A/VT8251 HDA Controller (rev 10)
The BIOS is Phoenix 6.00
I know Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit runs ok, also Fedora 17 32 bit, also Mint 17.1 64bit (April's Linux Format coverdisk), and I have installed distros from 'live' coverdisks since 2010, mostly succesful.
The only issues I had, was that my Acer monitor was not detected properly, being an unusual 1366 x 768. Mint detects it, OpenSuse never does.
I currently have Ubuntu 12.04 32 bit installed, when I reboot the pc with the 'live' Fedora DVD in rhe drive (set as primary boot device), the Fedora 22 distro gets to the point of the black screen, white graphic, half filled white, then freezes.
I would be intersted to to know what else I could do, assuming the motherboard is able to run this software.
(On the same coverdisk are also Sabayon 15.06 64 bit and Ubuntu 15.04 32 bit which also fail to install.
Also there is an iso image of the Ubuntu 15.04, which I burned to a new DVD-R, which also fails to install past the first stage.)
Any pointers would be very hekpful, thanks.

Here are some screen photos of what I get when trying to install Fedora 22 live DVD. Hope it helps so that someone with more know-how than me can say what is happening, and what changes I can make.
For instance would it be any advantage to install Fedora 17, 32 bit, which runs fine, then to run the Fedora 22 64 bit live disk?

this will be a issue fro fedora 22
"2GB DDR RAM. "
2 gig of ram

gnome 3 will need all of that just to show the home folder

the "GeForce 8400GS" uses the older legacy support nvidia - 340.76.run
but
the DEFAULT installed and part of the live dvd uses the Open Nouveau driver
-- should support a older nvidia card

the 2 gig of ram WILL be a issue

i would use the xfce OR lxde desktop RESPIN

Of itself 2 Gig of RAM is not the issue - I have Gnome 3 running on a 1 F22 Gig system.
The F22-a.jpg above shows the issue - several other reports, usually fedup to F22. No resolution I can see. As @John VV suggests, try another spin - might be a Gnome issue.
F22_c.jpg and F22_d.jpg show kernel oops's - little point in trying to troubleshoot this.

Hi, Thanks to both syg00 and John VV for your comments.
I thought the main reasons for these problems would be the old hardware I am trying to use, it's from around 2007, and the RAM is 2GB maximum, i.e. 2 slots with 1GB each, so nothing I can do to improve that.
It makes sense that I can run the distros from a couple of years back with no trouble at all, so I can still use this motherboard with any the distros from around 2012/13.
I will try one of the lightweight versions of Fedora 22 and post the results whatever happens.
I have installed F17 again and took a screen shot as 'proof'....... Thanks again for the help and advice.
