If you do that, can you please make that optional and configurable in the config file? I really want to continue using flvstreamer piping to mplayer.
Thank you so much!
Yes, I'm taking this approach. I realize there are folks who use vlc as well so locking the code down to just mplayer would not be a good thing. It also requires a recent build of ffmpeg and mplayer with librtmp enabled in both to get this to work so it's going to be off by default and leave it as an advanced hacker option.
I realize that supporting gameday audio isn't your priority here, but I thought you'd like to know that the blackout error message revisions seem to have affected gameday audio: I get blackout error messages when I try to listen to local games in the current revision, but not when I use revision 277.
Hey Everyone - newbie here needing some help with the mlbviewer. I just finished the install, read all the README files and I think everything istalled correctly. However, I got to the point when it runs and returns an error of "There was a parser problem with the listings page", then it closes. I searched the threads and can't seem to find anything that would help fix this... can anyone help me troubleshoot? I am on a netbook and a premium MLB user, don't care about nexdef or anything else... just tired of lugging a huge windows computer around Thanks in advance!!

How did you do the install? If it was from sourceforge I think that's out of date. You need to use svn to get the latest version.. the repository location is either in the documentation or further back in the thread.
I was (am still) looking for the official autobahn.jar location, if anybody knows please tell me. For some reason I can't seem to get it from mlbtv.com and I want to fiddle with nexdef. Edit again: http://mlb.mlb.com/nexdef-jars/ in case anybody else is wondering..

Thanks for the reply, MChapter. I did do the install from sourceforge. I appreciate the advice and I'll see what happens. For your autobahn.jar issue, I was reading about using dmg2img... have you tried that? If not, I can forward you the instruction link.

I checked in something that should fix this (and the inappropriate blackout of archived games with blackout status set) but couldn't find a game to test it on. See if this revision works any better for you.

The (un)official repository location is no longer being maintained. Please follow the instructions in the NEXDEF-2010.txt file for extracting the autobahn.jar from the Mac installer. I believe the current version is v2011_122. You may want to double check with the nexdef install page on mlb.com. Once you determine the correct version, it's a simple substitution in the direct URL included in the NEXDEF-2010.txt file.
Please share any results you have with me. My experience is that as soon as the bitrate changes, rtmpdump crashes.

Thanks, I'll check it out tonight.
Also, this morning during the first Mets-Rockies game, I could only get the Rockies radio broadcast. Right now, during the second game, I can only get the Mets radio broadcast.
I just purchased a new desktop (from system76 - support linux!). It should arrive in about 10 days. It's my first computer that can run 64-bit linux. Has anyone experienced any problems running mlbviewer on 64-bit linux (Ubuntu, specifically)? I know there can be some difficulties running flash on 64 bit OSes, so I wanted to check in to see if I should expect any problems.

Hey Guys, I followed the thread and the instructions and still getting the same error: "There was a parser problem with the listings page"... then the window closes and goes back to the terminal... any other thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Thank you daftcat! Rev. 280 fixed blackout message for me. (I was having difficulty with the
BLACKOUT : MLB_AWAY_TEAM_BLACKOUT message in rev. 279 for playing the following archived game).
It plays normally now.

I've been using Ubuntu 64 bit with mlbviewer since Intrepid (8.1). I'm up to Karmic (9.1) now and I'm sure the newer versions are fine as well. My default browser is Chrome though, so the flash is a little different.

Nope, I'm still getting blackout messages when I try to listen to the Oakland-Detroit game.

Please post a stdnosoap.py log next time you see this. Surprisingly, I'm in OAK blackout territory and can't reproduce this but then I know the BLACKOUT message you are getting is different from the HOME or AWAY blackouts when you're in the blackout region. I can't predict which ones will get them either because they seem so completely random which team will have those for which game. Otherwise, you can always revert to the revision that works.

You have to use the nexdef2010-branch in the svn repository! Even if you don't want NexDef. The trunk is not maintained at the moment.
