[SOLVED] Is Esudo login supposed to load at boot?

I have used Bodhi for quite some time, on a Lenovo ThinkPad T430. Recently I replaced the T430 with a System76 Galago Pro 2, and installed Bodhi on it along with several other distros, as is my wont.

When I boot Bodhi, after boot I get a nice graphical Esudo login screen. I didn't get that before. Is this supposed to be here? Is it necessary? If not, how can I remove it?

Hello

Not sure what you mean with Esudo login screen. You probably mean lightdm greater and if you put your account and password, the moksha screen appears. If so check this file:

/etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf

now look at this line:
autologin-user=stefan

I have stefan there, you change it to your account name

Nope, that's not it. After I get a completely booted system, a little graphical box comes up that says eSudo and asks for my password.. If I click Cancel it goes away, if I enter my password it goes away. Nothing else comes of this. I will now go and reboot to get a screenshot.

ok this is not normal, I am assuming you are installed Bodhi 5.0.

What are the contents of the two files in ~/.e/e/applications/startup (.order and startupcommands)?

I tried to attach those. I got the error message, "Invalid file."

startupcommands is:
xrandr --output HDMI-1 --off --output DP-1 --off --output eDP-1 --off --output HDMI-2 --primary --mode 1360x768 --pos 0x0 --rotate normal

.order is:
nm-applet.desktop
elaptopcheck.desktop
apturl.desktop
/etc/xdg/autostart/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1.desktop

Apparently I'm running the elusive Bodhi 5.1.0.

Remove apturl.desktop from the .order file and restart moksha. You can also remove it in settings. That should not be there and is causing the issue you have.

How did that get in there in the first place, I wonder...

Glad it solved. As to how it got there, it has been manually added at some point I would suspect.

I seriously doubt I did that. The only thing I added was the ARandR for my external monitor.
