can not install Bodhi linux on old laptop - image cheksum error


Hi

I try to install Bodhi linux legacy release on old laptop with 128Mb RAM and 1333Mhz Mobile Celeron CPU. Laptop HP omnibook xt1000s.

When I tray to boot from CD I get error:
ISOLINUX 6.03 20171017 ETCDisolinux: Image checksum error, sorry...

did you check if that was really true?
How did you get that CD?

I downloaded cd from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/bod...y.iso/download

here you can find not only the download link, but the md5sum link too. You need to check if the download was successful.

Just for info, that download link on the Bodhi Linux page for the legacy version links to the Sourceforge link that the OP used.

@OP: If the MD5 checksum turns out to be correct, then try burning the ISO to CD again.

I already try to download again and burn on cd and dvd on two different burner, but the error is the same.

Did you check the MD5 checksum of the downloaded iso as advised?

According to this:

https://www.bodhilinux.com/w/system-requirements/

the minimum required ram is 256MB. You might try partitioning the hard drive in advance and creating a 2GB swap partition as suggested in the above link. You can create the swap partition at the beginning of the hard drive with the GParted livecd:

https://gparted.org/livecd.php

And then see if the Bohdi installation will go.

Is there any livecd you can get to boot? If not, I would suspect a faulty optical drive.

Make sure your CDburner program has an option to burn an Image or ISO and use that. Plain copying the iso-file to a cd
rom wont work.
