64-bit utilities (includes mc2-64 bit)

Posted Yesterday at 06:00 PM by rainbowsally
Updated Today at 02:35 PM by rainbowsally (Uninstaller fixed and uploaded, mc2 build bugs fixed)

We'd better tool up. The old mc2 was for 32-bits. There are a few bugs in it but it should work for those needing 32 bit compilation on a 64 bit machine.

[Note: May 4, Found installer bugs in the mc2 src d/load. Path to panic version of mc2 was added so the stuff could update before being installed and pkg-config string replaces individual includes and libs now. Sorry about that. Should work now.]

But today's amazing journey into Mad Computer Science is...

An Experiment: From C Definitions To Templates

An Experiment: From C Definitions To Templates

This is a tangent, but a forgivable one, no?

Today's mind-blowing Mad Computer Science features:
  • An experiment morphing a regular old C style set of functions into a set of C++ templates.
  • We rename a literal parameter type to a template parameter T and voila!
  • This will help demystify the horrible noise in the messy STL templates by making a simple transition from main_1 to main_2, in which error messages from the compiler

An Alternate Glade Build.

Posted 04-25-2015 at 01:03 PM by rainbowsally

An Alternate Glade Build. Yes, this actually pertains to the parser, but nevermind that for now.

Need to build glade with -g3 flags? The Computer Mad Science Team does, and so today's marvelous adventure starts here. [Only needs 'make' and the original glade sources d/load to do it.]

Features:
  • An alternate build system generated with Computer Mad Science tools.

Our attempt to use the standard ./configure-make sources to get glade to compile with debug flags...

GLADE meets FLUID (FLTK designer) Pt 1

Posted 04-14-2015 at 04:49 AM by rainbowsally
Updated 04-14-2015 at 05:02 AM by rainbowsally (clarification)

Today's Features:
  • See how the glade files suggest the names of the gtk functions needed to "write" C/C++ directly from ui text.
  • Using anonymous child objects and parent linkage. (It's easy.)
  • Hypothetical code translation with ui definitions in comments.

I confess, I like the fltk 2.0 concept and I have reworked it into my own FTL interface creator. You'll have a heck of a time getting a copy of 2.0 anymore. And it's substantially messed up. But I like my FTL because...
