Just annotations of little "how to's", so I know I can find how to do something I've already done when I need to do it again, in case I don't remember anymore, which is not unlikely. Hopefully they can be useful to others, but I can't guarantee that it will work, or that it won't even make things worse.

- search for the word "tab", you'll get a bunch of entries
- change the value of browser.newtabpage.columns for your desired number of columns (for instance 4)
- change the value of browser.newtabpage.rows for your desired number of rows (for instance 4)
(in my example you'll get a grid of 16 tabs - instead of 9 by default)
Be careful not to chose too many tabs for it is very resource consuming.

If you don't like the constant thumbnail generation for whatever reason, you can disable it in the about:coonfig boolean option "browser.pagethumbnails.capturing_disabled". You can toggle it to generate a thumbnail for a pinned page, just visit it and wait until it finishes loading, toggle it off again.
For pages that don't generate a thumbnail at all (it won't work for gmail with me) or if it's troublesome for whatever reason, you can create one with whatever program you like that can save PNGs in a given size, all you need to do is see what file name it should have through the url moz-page-thumb://thumbnail?url=************. It will display an error message and the location and filename the thumbnail file must have. Over there should be other thumbnails in the necessary size/proportion.
