hutuworm 01-03-2005 08:18 PM

No doubt, it's Firefox!

vectordrake 01-03-2005 08:50 PM

firefox and opera take 6 month shifts on my box
links2 and konqueror sneak in and play too, sometimes
....did I see Dillo somewhere on here....

...and firefox opened every single poll in tabs when I asked it to!!

reverendm 01-04-2005 01:10 AM

i dl'ed firefox.
i don't see the benefits. thou there is built-in popup blocker, so it seems. i've noticed no performance differences from other browsers.

please tell me why i should like firefox. and why you do....

making a vote tells nothing but preference.

Peacedog 01-04-2005 07:30 AM

My vote goes to Mozilla. It's not as fast as firefox, but I like the complete package that it provides. Browsing, email, address book, etc. No need to learn multple apps, it's all right there in one nice interface.

chandj 01-04-2005 09:46 AM

Firefox, not only because of its quality, but because of how it has evolved.

mastermindNYC 01-04-2005 01:25 PM

I'm voting Mozilla beause of the integration. Plus I can't help but feel like the wheel is being re-invented with FF & Thunderbird...

amilcar 01-04-2005 01:58 PM

I have just too little experience with firefox.
I usually use Mozilla, Konqueror , Netscape.
Opera has too much publicities.

predator.hawk 01-04-2005 02:33 PM

mr. firefox!

habala 01-04-2005 03:28 PM

firefox

firefox rulez

archdev 01-04-2005 03:57 PM

I have been using opera since version 6.x (before I moved over to linux) and after having gotten used to the speed of it, its hard to use mozilla or even firefox. I voted for opera as the best browser, but since firefox is free, per dollar it would be best.

FelineFanatic 01-04-2005 04:16 PM

Hi everyone...I'm new, but I have to agree, Firefox is awesome! I just started using it this week, and I can't imagine myself ever going back to Idiot Exploder...hehe

Silent1 01-04-2005 05:25 PM

wouldn't touch anything besides my firefox.

Mersis 01-04-2005 07:06 PM

definitely firefox ...

but with the help of below contributions
extensions {
mouse gestures
gmail notifier
tweak network settings
} and themes {
noia 2.0 (eXtreme)
}

ltd602 01-04-2005 09:47 PM

Firefox, for all reasons stated previously.

BUT . . . . I DO like where Konqueror is going.

FireLight69 01-05-2005 01:35 AM

FireFox all the way

kartik_mistry 01-05-2005 03:39 AM

Firefox 1.0 -- Great...

zba78 01-05-2005 04:25 AM

Where's the band-wagon gone..................ah there it is.

Firefox for me too.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, along with OpenOffice.org and the Gimp I see firefox as being one of the best open source project's I have ever seen.

judge_neo 01-05-2005 07:58 AM

if Firefox doesn't walk this one then something is really wrong!

bornhj 01-05-2005 04:50 PM

Yet another vote for Firefox.

I use it in both Windows and Linux, and I use it a lot more now it comes as the default in Fedora.

BUT, Konqueror is definately my second choice, its much easier to be able to jump straight from [insert website] to my home, and get the pretty icons.

P.S. I never understood lynx ;)

bsharitt 01-05-2005 05:26 PM

safari

firehawk256 01-05-2005 08:44 PM

Hello, I represent Noobie Idiots for Firefox... Yay Firefox!

Konqueror is nice too

Some sites try not to! LOL! But mine does. ;);)

aoriza 01-06-2005 10:39 AM

Firefox the best (El Mejor!!!)

I use several browsers and Firefox is the best in graphic and text mode. Is not discution here is the best in the market. The perfect complement to browse with linux.

He usado diferentes navegadores y Firefox es el mejor tanto en modo grafico como en texto. No hay discusion, es el mejor navegador existente en el mercado, la prefecta base de navegacion en linux.

Seth Kinast 01-06-2005 04:18 PM

Firefox... just another reason that switching from Windows to Linux was so painless.

Charalambos 01-06-2005 04:24 PM

Hey! Why am i not able to vote for M$ Internet Explorer?? Unrivaled? Ignorants...

Hammett 01-06-2005 05:24 PM

Firefox all the way down. It is by far the best browser. Yhe ability of getting extensions make Firefox customizable to an enless point, something the other browsers lack of.

scasagra 01-06-2005 08:02 PM

FireFox of course

bigearsbilly 01-07-2005 04:01 AM

mozilla is good too, and it's got tabs.
one groovy thing is you can bookmark a series of tabs.
like if you've got php docs and mysql docs and your test website
open, you can bookmark all 3 tabs as one bookmark, groovy!

mind you i am using firefox most of the time!

shmonkey 01-07-2005 09:25 AM

Firefox (obviously)

schmee 01-07-2005 01:25 PM

firefox ... on m$ or *nix

kostian 01-07-2005 01:42 PM

Opera
(elinks in console)

Present 01-07-2005 03:06 PM

couldn't you just poll the hits per browser to see which is the "most active" browser on LQ? ;-)

warp981 01-07-2005 04:46 PM

firefox all the way

That'd never start a flame war! C'mon now!

Quest-Master 01-07-2005 09:18 PM

Firefox, though Epiphany is slowly catching up.

wslyhbb 01-08-2005 12:03 PM

FIREFOX!!!! Enough said. Case closed.

ahh 01-08-2005 12:34 PM

I can only assume all you Firefox users haven't tried Galeon yet :-)

Yes, I did. Didn't like having to install Mozilla just to get the galeon front-end (two browsers for the cost of one?). Didn't like the default toolbar layout either. Didn't like the way it hesitated before fetching a web page. What I did like was how the search engines were bookmarked. That was cool.

Don't get me wrong. Firefox is far from perfect, but its getting there fast.

It's still under development, but in my opinion it's more complete than Firefox. The KHTML/Konqueror developers also react to bugs much friendlier. Example for Firefox: with loads of wishes on bugzilla they still don't want to add a 'new tab' button on the tab bar, and they also don't fix the "http:// without semicolon goes to microsoft.com" bug.

I've got a NEW_TAB button. You need to install the Tabbrowser Preferences extension

rotring 01-08-2005 09:13 PM

Well, I use and I voted for Phoenix, erm Firebird, erm Firefox. ;)

Zakirium 01-09-2005 09:03 AM

Firefox

I must say Firefox takes my vote again! Much easier, faster, and more secure than any other browser!

Pazabo 01-09-2005 10:13 AM

firefox - the fastest, the safest, the best

How are we ever going to get a flame war over this? This one's going to be a pre-1990 Albanian election result...

Pity there's no IE for Linux. That might just get things going ;-)

PSHLOS_007 01-09-2005 02:53 PM

Definetely Opera.ESpecially when u got a 400mhz celeron. The rest X browsers need a lot of CPU!

LoungeLizard 01-09-2005 05:54 PM

Firefox is the best browser out there...imo, If I have to use a windows machine :( it is the only way I would even think of getting on the net!!!

dylansmrjones 01-10-2005 11:59 PM

Firefox... it's gggrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeaaatt !! I use it on M$ winblows as well... Right now I'm actually writing this with firefox 1.0 (danish version) on win2k ...

But usually I'm running Fedora though... a long time ago since I've used windows for more than 30 minutes in a row :p

jollyjoice 01-11-2005 01:47 PM

firefox - installed it on my "U" drive @ school so I can use it on ANY comp on site! I'm thinkin!

insyte 01-13-2005 10:20 AM

Internet Explorer on WINE

Just kidding, firefox of course.

dclayton 01-13-2005 12:07 PM

go firefox

I love the latest firefox. This is already fantastic but a little more polish and it will be nearly perfect. Extensions are very good, it seems I can't live without adblock and image zoom. Uninstall of extensions needs work. I use KDE and konqueror is a good browser for some file management and such. Even latest mozilla doesn't nearly match firefox.
