FireFox Wins!

Firefox wins here IMHO. I currently am using Mozilla, but that is only because I am too lazy to install and configure another application (just like Windows users, hehehe). I have to confess that I have an xp partion as well as a win98, and FireFox is the best (except for the apps that make me $$$) application I have installed there, and I am including comparing it to full copies of M$ Orfice and Odome PhotoShop.

I absolutely love AdBlock and FlashBlock.. every non user I have shown or talked to about them wants to have them too :) I have a special place in my heart and mind for Oera. Opera can be hard to configure (just like Linux, even if it is in windoze), but it is better at handling downloaded files. If the Norwegians ever get together with the Californians, we are going to see a M$ killer for sure! (<-- hope-ing)

Firefox, of course.

Illissius 02-04-2005 03:08 PM

Opera. They're like the Apple of the browser market, in many ways. I'm even considering buying a license, which would make it the first and last software I've ever paid for in my life.

Konqueror for *ahhem* image viewing on websites (Gwenview integration is nice)... Firefox the rest of the time.

You can run it with Wine/Crossover, but:

Regarding other potential problems, Mike Hearn warned:

The biggest potential entrypoint for viruses in Wine is probably Internet Explorer. People who use that should know the risks involved, and it's massively unlikely anybody would use IE as their default browser on Linux.

Fortunately, someone told me the other day we have a pretty good browser for Linux: http://www.mozilla.org/
"The biggest potential entrypoint for viruses in Wine is probably Internet Explorer"... no thanks, I'll keep on using Firefox! B)

I think someone was making a joke, since the voting was already over. Do people still use IE?

I guess next time we should devide this as GUI Browsers and Text Based Browsers.
B'cos lot of us use Lynx like browsers in addintion to the browser we vote for.
I guess Lynx is one of the populer web browsers.
