Unhappy Need help with Xorg.conf and resolutions


Hey, this is my first day and post here.

I need help ( wow, im sure you didnt know that ) because when i was installing ubuntu i didnt configure resolutions correctly and didnt know how to check 1280x1024 box so now i cant go past 1024x768 i tried editing xorg.conf and added 1280x1024 but it didnt work..

Try this. This would work on Debian but I'm not too much sure about Ubuntu.

Code:
dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
I know Ubuntu doesn't have the default root account so you might want to use this instead

Code:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
Note: Ubuntu is based on Debian.

Thank you very much!!! It worked.

Im gonna add some keywords so if people have same problem as me they reach this post trough search.
