Can't mount NTFS partition (HDD problem?)...

I have problem with mounting ntfs partition in ubuntu (edgy eft). I've found this command on ubuntuwiki:

sudo mkdir /media/windows
sudo mount /dev/hda1 /media/windows/ -t ntfs -o nls=utf8,umask=0222
The problem is, it echoes me this error:

mount: special device /dev/hda1 does not exist
Now I list all my files in /dev folder, and there is nothing that starts neither with hd** nor sd**.

When I try cfdisk command, it echoes:

FATAL ERROR: Cannot open disk drive
It looks like ubuntu is not recognising my HDD...

Can anyone help, please.

I've found the problem... It doesn't list me /dev/sda1 in /dev folder, but it is there

I just wrote:

sudo mount /dev/sda1 /media/windows/ -t ntfs -o nls=utf8,umask=0222
and it works

exist, hdd, mount, ntfs
