2 hard drives, 3 operating systems & MBR's?

Well, I got my Ubuntu cd's in the mail..

Here is what I would like to attempt and need your advice and suggestions..

I currently have a dual boot system, which has Suse 8.2 and Windows 98.
One hard drive with GRUB on the MBR.

NOW, What I was wondering is..

I want to add another hard drive for just Ubuntu. So, I would like to install
it on this new slave hard drive. Will I be able to boot from that somehow
WITHOUT affecting the current master hard drive's MBR?

Would I just have to go into the bios each time and change it to boot from
the slave?

I just don't wont to affect the current MBR WHILE trying to install Ubuntu
on the slave drive..

any suggestions, tips, and advice would be greatly apprecitaed!

thanks!

Judah

if you are happy with your current bootloader setup, suse'2 grub i assume, then simply don't install another bootloader. Install as totally normal, and then just skip that step. then use grub to boot to ubuntu or suse and change the grub.conf (or menu.lst) for the suse install. You might need to poke around a little in grub to get unbuntu to boot, but it shouldn't be too hard... infact ubuntu may well actually preconfigure a grub.conf in ubuntu's /boot/grub folder IF you wanted to install it.
