When I try to access my floppy through system:/media/fd0 I get this error message...
Quote:
Error- Konqueror
Could not mount device.
The reported error was:
mount: according to mtab, /dev/fd0 is already mounted on /med ia/floppy
mount failed

But if I put /media/floppy in Konqueror I can access the floppy just fine.
By default you get a My Computer icon on the Desktop with a Floppy icon. That's the normal way I usually try to access a floppy and that's when I get the error. To me this seems more like a KDE problem then it is any thing else. Could this have any thing to do with updating the default KDE 3.4 on SUSE 10 to KDE 3.5? I don't really ever use floppies. My brother needed to use one the other day and that's when I found out the default method was causing problems.
I had this problem when I had SUSE 9.3 and they seemed to fix it when I upgraded to 10 and found the floppy problem went away. Well it worked with the default SUSE 10 install. So deductive reasoning suggest updating KDE might have some thing to do with it. What do you think?
