Hi,
I've picked up a Fellowes Micro Trac trackball which runs off a usb port.
I am using openSUSE 10.2 and have seen that one can in Xorg 7.x define addition mouse "Input Device".
A thread here:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=455793
My lsusb shows the device is:
/***
linux-eftd:~ # lsusb
Bus 002 Device 002: ID 05bc:0110 3G Green Green Globe Co., Ltd
***/
Here are the Input Devices currently defined in xorg.conf:
/***
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "kbd"
Identifier "Keyboard[0]"
Option "Protocol" "Standard"
Option "XkbLayout" "us"
Option "XkbModel" "pc104"
Option "XkbRules" "xfree86"
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "synaptics"
Identifier "Mouse[1]"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Emulate3Buttons" "on"
Option "HorizScrollDelta" "0"
Option "InputFashion" "Mouse"
Option "Name" "Synaptics;Touchpad"
Option "Protocol" "explorerps/2"
Option "SHMConfig" "on"
Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
Driver "mouse"
Identifier "Mouse[3]"
Option "Buttons" "5"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "Name" "ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse"
Option "Protocol" "explorerps/2"
Option "Vendor" "Sysp"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
EndSection
***/
What I need is for the trackball to emulate a scroll wheel.
Can anyone recommend how to set up the Input Device to emulate a scroll wheel?--Everything else works ok and I haven't edited xorg.conf to add the device.
Thanks in advance for any help on this,
LJ
