Too Many Modules Loaded


I would like to cut down the number of modules/services that are loaded, not being familar with a majority of them which do you recommend I should turnoff by defualt?

well, you could cut down ntfs and vfat if you dont use those. and you have stuff like hfs that you might not need.

if you don't have parrallel port, or dont use it, you can get rid of those.

get rid of ipv6 unless you use version 6 of IP. (unlikely).


you've got too many graphics thing - you wont need intel AND nvidia. and you probably dont need to the gameport. you might not need the scsi stuff

also you seem to a have lot of sounds modules. did you run alsaconf??


how are you planning to stop them loading??

Satinet,

Thanks for the advice, I will give those a try. I am going to disable them from starting via Yast>System>/Systems Services.

I have not run alsoconf, I have a SB live card and everything is working but do agree that too many sound modules are loaded.
