Tiny X fonts

I first loaded up slackware it had tiny fonts-- so I decided to try my free suse 9.1 pro disk from novell. Anyway-- same thing. In KDE I increased my font size up to 64 (I think) and my fonts were smaller than this . Without turning them up as far as they go all you could see is a line like this: ----

Does anyone know how to resolve this?

This box is a shop box for a charity I work for that builds old win98 boxes for underpriviliged children. The subnet that the workbenchs are on is constantly hammered by worms, trojens, viruses etc... I thought that this would be a real nice way of introducing Linux to the group and a safe haven for windows drivers.

Thanks

dan

you can try to replace your system fonts with Microsoft true type fonts.

I solved it -- required a:
-dpi 100

argument when starting the xserver

Thanks though
