SLES 9 and Mail Server

hi all,

i have finally decided to seek assistance before i transform my brain in jelly..
My query is about SLES 9 and it Mail Server.
After downloading the software and intalling the software on a spare machine, i had within a few minutes a fully functional http, file and printer server.
however, i cannot get my head around the email configuration.
by following the docs, i setup LDAP user authetication, which works with samba3, but i cannot setup the email server.

i suppose i am seeking some basic assistance as i have never setup an email server before. i have opted for SLES 9, as i am looking to expand my Linux experience.

i would really apreciate if you could spend a few minutes to help!

many thanks,

nicolas

why not start by telling us what servers you're actually trying to install? The term "Mail server" can cover a lot of different functionality, each different part able to be implemented with a range of different software packages.

thanks,

i am sorry for not being clear.
i am trying to setup the default mail server (postfix) to send and receive email for a domain. ideally i am looking to enable users to utilise imap to access their email from the web.

So I am looking to setup an email server to enable users to send and collect email from the internet securily.

thanks,

nicolas
