simple image editing

Is there any Linux equivalent to Windoze-Software like Paintshop Pro, which allows quick and simple but effective photo-editing? I just want to be able to apply a couple of standard-effects, get rid of a few red eyes and touch some spots up - all of that without having to employ the mighty GIMP... I've looked around and checked out the likes of ImageMagick, KimDaBa and some others, but none of them does really do the trick.

First of all, they asked for any other image manipulators besides the Gimp, don't waste their time in just telling them to use something they're clearly already aware of, post constructively, skip it or don't post at all if your not going to actually read their thread or question!
