rotating the screen

i'm using suse 10 and samsung syncmaster 710T. graphics card nvidia geforce ti 4280, nvidia drivers are installed.
i ran rotate my monitor, now i need to figure out how to rotate the screen image also. i can do it in windows so hardware is not a problem.
under "Configure Desktop" (right-click on the desktop) i can see the options to rotate in several ways but i cannot choose them. they are grayed out.
i searched in yast and sax2 but did not find any other place where to set this.

any ideas?

for the standard nv driver: http://www.xfree86.org/4.4.0/nv.4.html

i would assume that nvidia own driver can do the same, possibly with the very same options.
