Here we go again!
There are 3 stable versions of SUSE10 .
Retail (100 euros?) - Double-layer DVD, 5 cds, 2 manuals, official support from Novell
Suse10 Eval (FREE) - Single-layer DVD or 5 cds, missing some commercial packages and some other things, because single-layer can not hold as much data as the double-layer one.
THIS IS THE ONE I RECOMMEND!
Download from here:
http://www.novell.com/products/susel...ions_eval.html
OpenSuse (FREE) - 5cds, crippled stupid little opensource thingy. Ok it has all basic linux packages you need, but it doesn't have acrobat reader, flash, java, mp3-support,...
Everything can be downloaded from opensuse servers.
So if you use this, prepare yourself for some serious downloading...
Live versions can also be downloaded
SUSE - super SUPER is a testbed for anything that makes your SUSE Linux OS perform in a different manner than intended in the more stable and enterprise oriented SUSE Linux tree. This can be a speed improvement geared towards the specialised desktop user or an additional feature that is considered too experimental or dangerous by the main SUSE Linux tree.
SUSE Slick (1cd) SLICK stands for SUPER Lite: Core + Kde, or, if you prefer, Simple LInux: Core + Kde. It is a (potential) project to create a lightweight, desktop-oriented, easy-to-use Linux distribution based on SUSE Linux via the openSUSE community.
