Question Network HP Officejet 7210 printer setup probs

Hello,

I have a HP Office jet 7210 plugged into my router. I have hplip installed (according to yast!), but when I try to run hp-makeuri from the shell, bash tells me "hp-makeuri command not found". This goes for hp-info as well.

I can ping the printer. I know the printers ip address (got that from router homepage) I just cannot get the URI for it, so I can add the printer in yast.

I read SNMP can cause this problem, if not installed correctly, so i uninstalled and re-installed it.

my shell looks like this "mac@linux:~>" I thought my local shell should have a $??

Any thoughts would be great. Many thanks

Mac

Your current directory is the /home directory, so the bash shows ~.
If you enter cd / or cd, you will get $.
If the printer is supported directly by Suse, you won´t need hplib.
