Kernel Update - Harddisk Problem

I have updated my SuSE 9.2 Kernel to 2.6.8-24.5

and have done that simultaniously on my Desktop and on my Notebook which was a big mistake but anyway.

now both machines hang on bootup saying:

Code:
Waiting for device /dev/hda3 to appear: .....not found -- exiting to /bin/sh
sh: can`t access tty: job control turned off
I found a suggestion on the suse Homepage saying it could be a problem of not using mkinitrd, but that didn`t solve the Problem for me...

does anyone have a suggstion?

THX

if it doesn't boot, get hold of knoppix or some other live CD (maybe the Suse installation CD has a rescue function? check). The old kernel should be around in the /boot partiton so you probably just have to set up the bootloader to use the old kernel.
